Eat Well, Play Hard – Wayne County, NY
Eat Well, Play Hard Community Project is a state-wide initiative to work with local organizations and families to prevent childhood obesity by:
- Increasing availability and consumption of vegetables, fruits, and 1% or less dairy products
- Increasing physical activity among children
Cornell Cooperative Extension and partner schools, child care centers and pre-schools, after-school and other youth programs, community centers, and others are working to ensure that the environments where children spend their time promotes healthy eating and physical activity.
Events and information contained here are sponsored and funded by a grant of the NY State Department of Health called Eat Well, Play Hard Community Projects. The purpose of the grant is to promote physical activity for families and youth ages 2-12, and to inform local communities about the importance of eating fruits, vegetables, and low fat dairy products.
